After more than 30 years, Daniel Hill Riedel is reintroducing his picturebook, AND GOD SAID for a new generation of children and families—taking them on a pictorial journey through the creation of the heavens and the earth! And guiding them through the Bible’s teaching on our origins, identity, meaning, purpose and destiny—all starting in the beginning. The first edition was published by Wolgemuth & Hyatt Publishers, Inc in 1989.
In addition to the newly designed picturebook illustrating Genesis 1-2, this special 2nd edition of AND GOD SAID contains a new section on the importance of creation: Creation’s Answers to Life’s 5 Essential Questions. The answers to the questions of origins, identity, meaning, purpose and destiny tell the story of the connection between humanity’s origins and the meaning and purpose of our lives in our families, work and relationship with God and His creation today. This is the blueprint for every area of life!
Riedel shares what motivated him to republish this new version of AND GOD SAID, “Christian families are increasingly facing the challenges of a godless culture. Their children are being bombarded with unbiblical teachings about our origins, the value of human life, sexuality, gender, marriage, family, work, worship, the environment and climate—all of which impacts our lives’ fundamental meaning, purpose and destiny. It’s a guide through God’s definitions of our Origins, Identity, Meaning, Purpose and Destiny. In the beginning, when He created the heavens and the earth and all they contain, He gave meaning and purpose to the whole created order. Our children need to be taught this from their earliest ages.
“I added this new section to the picturebook as a guide for adults to teach their children what the Bible says about creation and its significance for every aspect of our lives. Just the pictures tell the story to the youngest children. And as they grow, they can understand the significance of what they see in the pictures for their own lives,” Riedel shares about this new section in the 2nd edition.
Daniel Hill Riedel is a fine artist, illustrator and designer. He graduated from Cedarville University with a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies/Philosophy, Aesthetics and studied fine art at The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. He has worked in fine and decorative arts, graphic design, marketing communications as well as production and publishing since 1980.
Riedel is currently founding SIX DAY CREATIONS, a production company to publish AND GOD SAID and produce related prints, products and merchandise, as well as other projects.
